Another sort of special fibre used here at HTS Alte Temperature is synthetic and natural insulators. Synthetic fibre insulators are produced by an elaborate process and find widespread use thanks to their competitive price, although they do come at a high environmental cost.

Natural fibre insulators are widely used in construction, as they do not release any dust that is harmful to people or the environment.
